As a child, Keefer-McGee spent much of her time caring for younger siblings. From an early age, she mined myth, fairy tales, invented worlds, and her own imagination to make sense of the adult world. Today, Keefer-McGee’s work continues to examine how we layer cultural and personal meaning with lived experience, the natural world and the stories we tell to construct the self.
